Venue Facts: Rice-Eccles Stadium
Rice-Eccles Stadium is the premier stadium of the Intermountain region, serving the six-state area of Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, Colorado and Nevada. By playing host to a variety of events such as the 2002 Winter Olympic Opening and Closing Ceremonies, EA Sports Supercross, various concerts including U2 and the Rolling Stones, world-class soccer matches and of course football games, Rice-Eccles Stadium has provided entertainment to fans of all interests and ages. The Stadium staff takes pride in operating a state-of-the-art facility and is committed to continued excellence of events, superb facility maintenance and quality customer service.
The stadium underwent a 50-million-dollar renovation beginning May 1997 and was completed September 1998. It was financed by private donations, bonds, and the Salt Lake Olympic Committee. It is now one of the most beautiful and modern stadiums in the United States.
